Product Description
Altia is owned by the state of Finland. When government considered selling the corporation, a popular movement grew to oppose this. The Koskenkorva distillery is the largest buyer for the barley farmers in the area. Without the distillery, cultivation of barley in the region would probably cease. During the first decade of its existence, Koskenkorva gained a steady standing as the number one in sales of strong spirits in Finland. In addition to the traditional black rye bread and the sauna, Koskenkorva has become a symbol of what is essentially Finnish. The Finns, who are often seen as courageous, honest and reserved, have adopted this drink as a way of enjoying themselves when letting loose. Koskenkorva Vodka is a premium vodka. Distilled over 250 times, produced from the purest glacier water and selected barleys from Koskenkorva´s own fields.
Crystal clear in colour. The bouquet shows black pepper spirity spice, faint dairy cream and toasted brazil nuts. The palate is superbly clean and neutral in style. Crack black pepper spice and very faint nuttiness. A superbly clean vodka with minerality and faint nuttiness on the finish.
