Sweets for the sweet: Aberlour has always made a subtle, almost delicate malt, although with a goodly hit of sherry-barrel oak to keep it from floating away. The non-chill filtered version foregoes the fine filtering that prevents whisky from clouding up when you add ice. It also sucks out just a little bit of the flavor. Without it, the Aberlour is perceptibly richer. A malt for a winter’s evening by the fire.

Roses, candyfloss, slightly buttery. Perfect balance of sherry and the malty, spicy, house character. The two elements are tightly combined, with the spicy flavours emerging slowly: nutmeg, aniseed and emphatic orange-flower. Complex and sophisticated.
-
More subtle and complex than the new 12 year old, and not as sweet. Creamy in texture and floral on the nose, with dried vanilla, gentle spice, nectarine, kiwi, plum, and lemon gum drops. Soft, elegant finish with a hint of mint. Great balance of a variety of flavors and lots of finesse. A well-crafted whisky!

Only the very best casks have been selected, ensuring a whisky of unsurpassed richness: it is by far the most indulgent Aberlour expression. A whisky of perfect structure, the ultimate expression of Aberlour.

Balblair single malt Scotch whisky is intriguingly complex and satisfying. We capture the intense esters at the start of the spirit cut to give our Whisky the core characteristics of apricots, oranges, spices, floral notes and green apples. The heavier oils and lipids at the end of the cut are also captured, giving leathery, nutty and full-bodied characteristics.

-
A lighter more delicate expression of Balvenie. Light honey sweetness, malty, with heavy cereal notes, and mild play between white pepper and oak. The finish is crisp, dry, oaky in a raw, chewed toothpick kind of way. This isn’t going to rock your world or anything but it’s a fine introductory malt.
