The spirit consists of at least 50% Grande Champagne wines, the distilling is traditional. The humid cellars of Fussigny are situated at the river of Charente, pushing aromas to where they are supposed to end up. Like all Fussigny Cognacs, the XO is aged in Tronconnais casks or Limousin oak barrels.

Very seductive Cognac. The bouquet of Folle Blanche in the majority with hints of almond, cinnamon and peach. Intermediate dry palate with vanilla and nutty flavours, floral essences are also evident. A finish full of orange like freshness.

The first scent is called Brise de Vincennes (the breeze from Vincennes) and aims to recreate the daytime aromas from the Belle Époque era, with notes of fresh bread, coffee and vanilla. The second fragrance is Nuit Débordante (heady night) to evoke the “glamour and intrigue of Paris after dark” with smells of tobacco, candied orange and patchouli.

The Lot 90 is the youngest of the Cognacs from their XO selection and is made with grapes from Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Petite Champagne and Fins Bois. The bouquet shows scents of young fruit (pear) and dried fruits, with a hint of almond. On the palate it seems very powerful with the taste of dried fruits coming through. A rather impressive XO.
