While India may not be the first country to mind when great world whisky is mentioned, the Fusion Single Malt is about to change all that. “Kadhambam” in Tamil means “combination” or “mixture”. The name reflects the idea of whiskey that is aged in three types of barrels. Of smoked and cured whiskey spirits whiskey made primarily mature Oloroso sherry casks, then travels to the brandy and finally the rum barrels. This combination gives the drink an unusual combination of flavors and aromas.

This Indian single malt whisky has been matured in PX Sherry casks. This is a robust and intense offering, with punchy clove overtones wrapped in layers of dark forest fruits and fruit jam. The palate reveals chocolate notes, cinnamon, toffee, dusted with coffee powder. Neat and comforting. Speaks volumes to the skill of Amrut’s blenders.

The palate brings with it a richness normally associated with the very best Scotch Whisky and leaves you with flavours of molasses and cream toffee balanced with a subtle dryness to finish.
