Product Description
Our story is the story of our people, the land, and how we look after it to ensure that Palliser consistently produces great wine that people around the world love to drink. Where we are plays a big part in creating that wine. The vineyard is in the internationally-renowned winegrowing area of Martinborough. Our name, a reference to local landmark Cape Palliser, pays homage to the unique combination of the semi-maritime climate and terroir that make the region one of the best wine-growing regions in the world. “If you’re going to have a strategy it’s got to be flexible. To a degree we’re in the fashion industry. People change what they drink, so if need be, we’ve got to be able to change what we produce.”. The history of Palliser Estate winery goes back decades. Palliser’s first grapes were harvested in 1989. Today, the vineyard has spread across 92 hectares that produces predominantly Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Riesling. Since that very first vintage our wines have been winning praise from international wine judges, media and customers. Despite this expansion the core Palliser philosophy remains the same as it was when the first vines went into the ground. It’s about hard work. It’s about employing the best people. And it’s about making sure the vineyard and our business are sustainable.
Vibrant straw yellow colour. The bouquet shows a delicate nectarine-like fruit and a little nuttiness show on bouquet. There is plenty of up-front flavor, with citrus and tropical fruits alongside the cool stonefruit notes. A robust wine on palate, the acidity becomes a feature on the finish.
