Bodega Classica is in the heart of the Rioja Alta, near the historic town of San Vincente de la Sonsierra, one of the places with the longest tradition of wine. The region offers the best conditions for growing the Tempranillo grape. The vineyards are protected in the north of the Toloño mountains, the climate in the south is positively influenced by the river Ebro. The winery is located on a hill. The majority of the space is, however, under the ground. This enables gentle wine production using gravity and the natural temperature regulation. Consequently, this ensures high energy efficiency. The wines are produced according to traditional winemaking techniques, but using the latest technology. About 5,000 barrels of primarily French and some American oak owned the bodega. Clean, bright, cherry-coloured robe with some red-brick tinges. The wine displays a certain degree of complexity on the bouquet. Aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries and raspberries, notes of spices, hints of old leather and some menthol remembrances. A masterly aged wine, the palate is pleasant and gentle. Medium-bodied, with a well-balanced acidity and velvety tannins. Notes of black fruit, some lactic touches, a hint of vanilla and cinnamon and a dash of graphite. Long, pleasant, spicy finish.
