This really is liquid gold. There is spiced vanilla alongside the baked red apple tropical pineapple and honeysuckle aromas. The palate has a driven fruit core with an explosion of kumquat citrus, lots of concentration and good balance. This wine finishes with a fresh citrus zest.

Honeyed, lifted notes of orange blossom, crème brûlée and toffee hit the bouquet with as much impact as the luxuriously rich and concentrated, tropically sweet fruit flavours. Candied lemon peel and clear lavender honey completely envelope the palate. Unbelievably ripe and concentrated, this is stunning dessert wine from the Rust en Vrede team.

The Maria, a Noble Late Harvest; made from Weisser Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc; that is the fourth wine in the Short Story Collection. Grapes for The Maria are sourced from dry-land vineyards on the upper slopes of the farm, where sea mists from nearby False Bay create ideal conditions for Botrytis Cinerea to flourish, and the wine combines a bouquet of dried apricots and peaches with a balanced palate of fruitcake, honey and marmalade.
-
Packed with apricot, spice and honey characteristics on the bouquet. The palate is full and impressively rich but with superb balance, the result of elegant Riesling acidity. The aftertaste seems to linger forever.

Concentrated Botrytis berries were hand-picked from selected vineyards to produce this Noble Late Harvest in the classic drier wood-matured style of Sauternes. Rich honeyed fruit on the bouquet is complimented by a seductive nutty oak spiciness. The silky smooth palate offers an earthy, wet river stone minerality which keeps the sweetness well balanced.

A brilliant golden, tawny appearance. It is intensely fragrant with hints of honey, raisins, marmalade and nuts penetrating the aroma. On the palate it is rich and sweet, but with sufficient acid to balance and it lingers forever.
