Product Description
Van Brunt Stillhouse is a craft distillery based in Brooklyn — arguably the epicenter of microdistillery activity in America, if not the world. (The company is named after Cornelius Van Brunt, one of the founding fathers of Brooklyn.) Van Brunt Stillhouse takes a time honored traditional approach to distilling. Sourcing wheat, rye and corn directly from upstate New York farmers. Making every spirit from scratch in the waterfront neighborhood of Red Hook in Brooklyn. Our family of whiskeys give a nod to classic styles while remaining innovative, creating bold and flavorful spirits.
Intense aromas of sawdust, straw, and orange grove waft up all at once and after a few moments clover honey, cinnamon, and sultanas join the party. Dry entry leads to an even drier mid-palate with a broad, grainy dominance and a surprising, smoky finish. Coming back to this whiskey after several minutes of air the aromas impressively shift gears and reveal maple syrup and pecans. Excellent.
