Product Description
Van Brunt Stillhouse is a craft distillery based in Brooklyn — arguably the epicenter of microdistillery activity in America, if not the world. (The company is named after Cornelius Van Brunt, one of the founding fathers of Brooklyn.) Van Brunt Stillhouse takes a time honored traditional approach to distilling. Sourcing wheat, rye and corn directly from upstate New York farmers. Making every spirit from scratch in the waterfront neighborhood of Red Hook in Brooklyn. Our family of whiskeys give a nod to classic styles while remaining innovative, creating bold and flavorful spirits.
Made from a rare 100% rye mash-bill, this whiskey is smallest batch product made at this impressive Red Hook outfit. The intensity of the grain works very well with the medium-sized barrels it goes into and after just a short time. This beautiful classic rye whiskey is made from a lot of rye grain and a little malted barley, so it’s got plenty of black pepper bite and a rich body. The bouquet shows cloves, orange fruits, spice, and raw vanilla. Nice rye spiciness and dried apricots on the palate with a dry toasted finish.
