Angostura Reserva 3 Year Old Rum
Distilled from fermented molasses by Angostura in Trinidad, this aged light rum is charcoal filtered to soften and remove colour from oak ageing.
Product Description
Angostura is probably better known for its aromatic bitters than for its rum. The company’s founder, a German named Dr. Johann Siegert, arrived in Venezuela in 1820 and was later appointed surgeon general in the town of Angostura. Siegert perfected his bitters in 1824 as a remedy for fever, stomachache, and a roster of other complaints. Angostura Bitters became internationally famous by the late 1800s. The company got into rum marketing in the early years of the 20th century, and then opened its own distillery in Trinidad in 1945.
Bright and rich in appearance. The bouquet has dominant aromas of fresh bananas, followed by notes of sugar cane. The palate is much more neutral, with only delicate hints of flavour. This rum would be perfect for a wide range of cocktails. Its delicate undertones of banana and pineapple also make it the perfect choice for an after dinner drink.

INGREDIENTS
50ml Angostura Reserva Rum
15ml De Kuyper Sour Rhubarb
10ml De Kuyper Lemongrass
20ml Fresh grapefruit juice
10ml Marie Brizard Blood Orange Syrup
7 dashes Angostura Aromatic bitters
METHOD
1. Shake ingredients in a mixer tin, with ice.
2. Pour into a chilled cocktail glass.
3. Garnish with grapefruit, orange twist and stick of lemongrass.
