Product Description
Since the beginning of the 11th Century, Aveleda has been held and cherished by the same Family. 1671 dates the begining of the Guedes name on the Lordship of Quinta da Aveleda and it has been kept until today. The successive generations of the family have contributed and devoted their time to their beloved estate and to Portugal. Although the name of Quinta da Aveleda already existed a long time ago, the date emblazoned on the top of the Chapel recalls the year of 1671. In the 1860’s, he planted an important amount of vines following the French Guyot method and sorting out the varieties in accordance to the soil. This allowed to control the production and quality of the wines and led to a regular excellence every year – extremely important for its marketing. Encouraged by this success, the vine planting and wine production has expanded and made Aveleda become one of the most important producers in the Vinhos Verdes Region.
Amber and clear in appearance, it presents a complex and harmonious bouquet, reminiscent of the aroma of berries and wildflowers, surrounded by a delicate sense of hardwood on the finish.
